Ahmed Fekry Mohamed is the Director of the e-Learning Center of Excellence (eLica) at the Information Technology Institute (ITI) in Egypt. With over 18 years of experience in the EdTech sector, he leads the education digital transformation, overseeing the online educational ecosystem for more than 32 technical tracks across 22 branches. His leadership was pivotal during the Covid-19 pandemic, where he successfully migrated all ITI training activities online, and he currently manages ‘Mahar-Tech Platform’, the official learning platform for ITI, which is serving more than 730 000 users.
Ahmed’s professional background spans regional and multinational projects in Egypt, Ireland and India. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in BioMedical Engineering from Cairo University Faculty of Engineering. He holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering with a specialisation in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, and an AWS Machine Learning Specialty Certification. His expertise includes instructional design, learning management systems, and the strategic integration of generative AI into content production pipelines.
Through the EdTech Fellowship, Ahmed aims to transition from operational excellence to strategic policy design. He hopes to develop evidence-based frameworks to scale high-quality technical education, bridging the digital divide and aligning educational outputs with regional labour market demands.
