Raneem Medhat is the Head of Education at Spacetoon Group, where she leads the development and growth of the education division across the Middle East and Africa. She is working to make learning more accessible and engaging for young people through programmes, edutainment initiatives and strategic partnerships that bring together creativity, technology and pedagogy.
Over more than a decade, Raneem has moved from helping communities access technology, to building skills programmes at national scale, to now rethinking what learning can look and feel like. She has built and led initiatives across more than 15 countries in collaboration with governments, development organisations and nonprofits, reaching millions of young people and enabling hundreds of thousands of successful learners. Across roles at Microsoft, Udacity and now Spacetoon, she has consistently been drawn to the space where strategy meets execution and where partnerships turn into real programmes.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University and completed the Digital Transformation Strategy programme at Yale School of Management. Her engineering background informs how she thinks about education, always looking for how technology can make learning more responsive to what different learners actually need.
Through the EdTech Fellowship, Raneem hopes to sharpen how she thinks about the evolution of education systems in a fast-changing world. She is particularly interested in learning design, the role of AI in education, and how to build models that do not stay static but grow and adapt with the learners and communities they are meant to serve.
