Dr Samer Siefeldeen is Head of the Mathematics Department at the Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD/CRDP) in Lebanon, where he leads national work on mathematics education, curriculum reform, assessment, teacher development and digital learning. In his current role, he contributes to shaping the Lebanese education system through curriculum development, national assessments, learning recovery programmes, and the integration of technology into teaching and learning. His work includes not only mathematics curriculum reform, but also the integration of core competencies within the Lebanese K–12 curriculum.
He has built extensive experience across school education, higher education, curriculum development, teacher training and international educational projects. Over the course of his career, he has served as a mathematics trainer, educational supervisor, curriculum designer, subject matter expert and university instructor. He also serves as an Instructor at the Lebanese American University. His work has contributed to major initiatives related to PISA, TIMSS, accelerated learning, foundational numeracy, national assessments and digital content development, in collaboration with regional and international partners including Cambridge University Press & Assessment and Alef Education-UAE.
Dr Siefeldeen holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from Saint Joseph University, as well as Master’s degrees in Pure Mathematics, Teaching Mathematics and Mathematics Education.
He is committed to advancing educational quality, equity and innovation, and joins the HP Cambridge Partnership for Education EdTech Fellowship eager to engage with a global network of leaders and contribute to scalable, evidence-based approaches to education technology transformation.
