Tom Geier

Vice President and Head of the Americas for Government Affairs & Public Policy - HP Inc.

Tom Geier is the Vice President and Head of the Americas for Government Affairs & Public Policy for HP Inc.. In this capacity, Tom is responsible for leading HP’s efforts in North and South America to shape public policy and manage HP’s brand and relationships with policymakers, while setting the vision and direction for HP’s related objectives at the regional, country, and state/province levels. Furthermore, he is responsible for representing HP in negotiations for investment incentives, market access, and operational continuity, and serves as the point of contact for senior government officials in the region.

Prior to joining HP, Tom was the Head of 3M’s Federal Government Affairs team where he was responsible for the company’s engagement with Congress and federal agencies. In this capacity, he oversaw the strategic planning and implementation for all related activities, including with the diplomatic community in D.C., while coordinating with the global government affairs team to advance 3M’s priorities in multiple countries and regions. During his tenure at 3M, Tom also coordinated and oversaw government-related engagement in more than 25 states and was responsible for media relations for 3M’s facilities in related states.

Prior to joining 3M, Tom worked in the United State Senate where he served as a legislative director, senior legislative assistant, and/or legislative assistant in two Senate offices, while overseeing a broad portfolio of issues.

Of note, in both his current role and during his tenure in the United State Senate, Tom was responsible for developing and advancing legislation and regulations that would expand the availability of education technology, so is eager to expand on those efforts as part of the Cambridge EdTEch Fellowship programme.

Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona while majoring in Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate.
