Abdulla Al Hammadi works in professional learning and educational innovation in Qatar, supporting the development of teachers and school leaders across K–12 schools. His work focuses on designing and delivering professional learning initiatives that strengthen teaching practices and embed educational technology meaningfully in classrooms. Abdulla holds an academic background from Cardiff University, where, though not originally trained in education, he pursued his studies with distinction. In several modules, he achieved top marks historically recognised by the University, reflecting his commitment to critically evaluating educational systems and learning experiences. Before entering education, he gained experience in the oil and gas and real estate sectors, giving him a cross-industry perspective that informs his approach to strategy, innovation and professional learning.
He has hands-on teaching experience, including early years education, and has led projects implementing learning management systems and e-learning solutions. Within the professional learning department, he has contributed to initiatives spanning academic development, business planning, and culture and heritage projects. He has also supported large-scale events, including the Teaching & Learning Forum, engaging over 1800 educators and school leaders.
As part of the Fellowship, Abdulla hopes to deepen his understanding of how educational technology can be implemented strategically within education systems. He is particularly interested in navigating the evolving EdTech landscape, addressing adoption challenges, and clarifying technology’s role in teaching and learning. He looks forward to exchanging insights with Fellows globally and contributing to innovative, evidence-informed approaches in education.
