Mrs Catherine Agyapomaa Appiah-Pinkrah is Director of General Administration at the Ministry of Education in Ghana, where she has worked since 2017. She has an MSc in Development Planning & Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana, and the University of Dortmund, Germany. She’s currently a Doctoral Student in Business Administration (DBA).
At the Ministry of Education, Catherine also served as a former Director for Pre-Tertiary Education, an area where she was responsible for the development and implementation of national policies regarding pre-tertiary education. She initiated and facilitated the development and implementation of a number of such policies, including digital literacy policies as well as ICT education policy, and continues to provide technical support. She works closely with private sector organisations, local and international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil society organisations (CSOs) and development partners.
Catherine is directly responsible for 50 staff, but also plays a large role working with all members of the Ministry of Education when it comes to administration.
There is the need to put in place reliable and credible fidelity of implementation strategies for quality assurance in all our programmes and policy implementation. I believe the fellowship will expose me to new ideas, exchange of ideas and experiences and best practices from other participants.
