Sreekanth Yagnamurthy

Dr Sreekanth Yagnamurthy is a Professor in Education (Assessment Studies) and Principal at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru. He is also the Chairman and Programme Director of Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Center, Mysuru. Before this, he served as Head of the Educational Survey Division, National Council of Educational Research and Training, and Associate Professor at the National University of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi.

He was a reviewer for the Cambridge Journal of Education, Asia Pacific Education Review, Social Change, and The Professional Geographer, a Journal of the Association of American Geographers. He was a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Educational Issues, Las Vegas, USA.

Currently he is a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Educational and Developmental Psychology, Canada.

His areas of interest are Student Assessment, School Leadership, Education in the Public and Private sectors, and Educational Quality and Accountability.

His publications include:

  • ‘How Do Students Perform at the School level? A Cross-Sectional Analysis at the National level’, in an edited book titled “Persisting Challenges of Equity, Quality and Inclusion in Education – Insights and Way Forward” (Routledge, 2023).
  • Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) in ‘The Curriculum Journal, UK (2017): Commentary on Reviews of James Tooley’s, The Beautiful Tree and Tooley’s reply (2011) in Journal of School Choice, Routledge, USA;
  • Bullying: an element accentuating social segregation (2009), Education 3-13, UK.
