Fahad Alenezi

Director of Knowledge Excellence - National eLearning Center (NeLC), Saudi Arabia

Dr Fahad Alenezi is the Director of Knowledge Excellence at the National eLearning Center (NeLC) in Saudi Arabia. In this role, he leads national initiatives focused on advancing digital education, strengthening research and policy development, and improving the quality and effectiveness of online learning across universities, schools and training institutions. His work contributes to shaping the Kingdom’s digital learning ecosystem by supporting institutions in adopting innovative learning models, emerging technologies and evidence-based approaches to education transformation.

Dr Alenezi has extensive experience in educational technology, digital learning strategy and quality assurance in online education. Throughout his career, he has worked across academic, policy and leadership roles, contributing to the development of national frameworks, regulatory policies and strategic initiatives that support digital transformation in education. His work focuses on bridging research, innovation and policy to ensure that technology is used effectively to expand access to learning and improve educational outcomes.

He holds a PhD in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University in the United States. His academic and professional interests include digital learning, emerging technologies in education, adaptive and AI-supported learning, and the governance of digital education systems.

As a Fellow, Dr Alenezi looks forward to collaborating with global education leaders, exchanging knowledge on effective EdTech policy and innovation, and contributing perspectives from Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving digital learning landscape.
