Ionel Florian Lixandru

State Secretary - Ministry of Education, Romania

Mr. Ionel Florian Lixandru has been serving as a Secretary of State in Romania’s Ministry of Education since 2021, a role in which he actively contributes to shaping policies and advancing the national education system. His efforts focus on improving educational quality, fostering innovation, and enhancing administrative processes to meet contemporary challenges in Romanian education.

Before assuming his current position, Mr. Lixandru held several influential roles within the educational system, including Director at Gymnasium School “Titu Maiorescu” and Gymnasium No. 178 in Bucharest, General School Inspector, and Deputy General School Inspector at the Bucharest School Inspectorate. In these roles, he demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to excellence, overseeing personnel management, project implementation, and curricular innovations.

With an extensive academic background, Mr. Lixandru holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the University of Bucharest, specialising in financing mechanisms and alternatives for pre-university education. His qualifications also include a Master’s degree in Educational Management and advanced certifications in public administration, military sciences, and project management. His academic endeavours are complemented by hands-on expertise in curriculum development, teacher training, and educational reform.

As a participant in the prestigious EdTech Fellowship, Mr. Lixandru is poised to further expand his expertise in integrating technology into education. He aims to explore innovative solutions to bridge educational gaps and empower teachers and students with cutting-edge tools and methodologies.
