Nabila Bashir is the Director of Business Excellence and Growth at the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) in Jordan, a leading academy for teacher professional development founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah to improve the quality of education by empowering teachers. In her role, she leads strategic initiatives that expand partnerships, drive innovation and integrate technology to strengthen teacher professional learning. With more than 20 years of experience across education, technology and leadership, Nabila oversees business development, monitoring and evaluation, communication and strategic partnerships, helping translate educators’ needs into programmes that leverage technology and data to enhance impact across the education sector. Additionally, she serves as an evaluator for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in the USA.
Before joining QRTA, Nabila began her career as a computer science teacher, where she gradually developed strong leadership skills through a range of academic and administrative roles. Over more than 15 years, she served as Head of Academics and Head of the ICT Department, while supporting the integration of digital learning practices and leading the implementation of a school-wide learning management system.
Nabila holds a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies in Education from the State University of New York and a Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is a TechWomen Fellow (2018), a US Department of State initiative that connects emerging women leaders in STEM with leading technology companies and mentors in Silicon Valley. Through this experience, she explored the role of technology and innovation in advancing opportunities for women and strengthening education systems globally.
Through the Fellowship, she hopes to collaborate with global peers to explore how emerging technologies can help transform education systems and strengthen teacher professional learning at scale.
