Ms Jana Du Plooy is CEO of both Acorn Education and Into Space NPC. She has a law degree and an MBA from Stellenbosch University in South Africa.
Both Acorn Education and Into Space NPC are organisation which aim to provide high quality educational solutions to learners in underprivileged areas.
Acorn Education supports the operation of no fee public schools in collaboration with the Western Cape Education Department, including teacher training, financial management, and supporting learners with barriers to accessing education. This includes supporting EdTech interventions with a fleet of 400 tablets rotated across multiple schools and the launch of a learning management system (LMS) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Into Space NPC is working to develop scalable low-cost models of flexible education using hybrid models.
As part of her role, Jana is responsible for strategy, stakeholder engagement fundraising and project operations.
