Director of E-Learning Innovation Center Ministry of Education - Saudi Arabia

Asma Alhamadi is an accomplished educator and a consultant in the field of educational technology, known for her contributions to e-learning innovation and lifelong learning initiatives. She has a strong background in leadership and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

 Asma Alhamadi holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Education Computing, Design, and Online Learning, which she earned from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, USA. Her graduate studies and research focused on the intersection of curriculum development, instructional design and educational technology, equipping her with a deep understanding of how to integrate technology effectively into educational settings.

Currently, Asma Alhamadi serves as Director of an EdTech programme for Teaching Arabic as a Second Language and EdTech consultant at the Saudi Electronic University. She has served formerly as Director of the E-Learning Innovation Center and Lifelong Learning Platform. In her roles, she plays a crucial part in driving the university's digital transformation efforts and spearheading initiatives that promote innovative e-learning approaches.

In addition to her work at the Saudi Electronic University, Alhamadi is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education, specifically the Department of Educational Technology, at King Khalid University. Her role as an educator allows her to impart her expertise in educational technology to aspiring educators, preparing them to integrate technology effectively into their teaching practices.

Having excelled in her field, Alhamadi has been sought after for her expertise by various institutions and organisations. She has worked as a part-time consultant in the development of standardised tests for professional certificates in e-learning and e-training for the National Assessment Center (Qiyas) at the Education and Training Evaluation Commission and the National E-learning Center.

Alhamadi's commitment to educational technology is not limited to higher education. She has also made significant contributions to the Ministry of Education in Riyadh, where she served as a Director of the E-Learning Unit at the Center of Curriculum Development. In this role, she played a pivotal part in shaping e-learning strategies and ensuring the integration of technology into the national curriculum.

Alhamadi's international experience includes a post-doctoral research fellowship at the College of Education in Kansas State University, where she conducted research on educational technology and contributed to the academic community. She also gained valuable experience as an intern scientist and researcher at Technology International Incorporated of Virginia (TII-VA) in LaPlace, Louisiana, USA.
