Mr Nicodemus Merafhe is Chief Education Officer in the Department of ICT and Media Services at the Ministry of Education and Skills Development in Botswana. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Botswana.
Nicodemus’ role is to implement the national ICT policy including infrastructure, professional development for ICT teachers, digital content and platforms, and digital pedagogy.
His remit includes 34 senior schools, 207 junior schools and 758 primary schools. He works closely with other government departments and parastatal organisations like telecommunications regulators as well as private sector companies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
“These exposures [on the fellowship] will help me gain new insights and ideas that can be used to develop policies and regulations as an EdTech resource professional in Botswana. This fellowship will also provide me with the opportunity to connect and network with other EdTech experts and professionals to deepen my knowledge and understanding of the subject area.”
